How to Save the Laptop Battery Life

Filed under: Others — admin @ 3:44 PM

Laptops are great gadgets that allow us a lot of convenience and use, but its utility can be limited by the amount of time its battery will allow us to enjoy it! Learn various ways to preserve your laptop’s battery and avoid the hassles of a faulty battery!

Step 1

Avoid unnecessary accessories or external devices that are attached to your laptop. Devices such as auxiliary lights, MP3 players, external hard drives, mice, webcams, and other USB devices will cause a lot of strain on your battery especially when used together at the same time.

Step 2

Keep your batteries as cool as possible. Heat tends to diminish the ability of a battery to hold charge. Do not leave batteries exposed to direct sunlight and try to avoid leaving it in hot places.

Step 3

A battery prefers a PARTIAL charge rather than a FULL Discharge. Frequent full discharges should be AVOIDED as much as possible because it will lessen the life of the battery.

Step 4

Try to read the manufacturer’s recommendations and tips for maintaining the battery. These can be seen on the owner’s manual; since they have made so many studies on how best to maximize their product, they are in the best position to give you advise.

Step 5

Drain your battery fully at least once a month and then charge it to the maximum capacity. Leaving your battery constantly on charge will diminish its capacity to hold charge. This routine will hopefully help the battery to last a lot longer.

Step 6

Turn the light down. The brightness of a laptop screen can really drain a battery, especially nowadays as computer screens are getting more powerful and brighter. Reducing the screen’s brightness will also help to preserve the battery life for a little longer.

How to Upload Pictures From Cell Phone using USB Cable

Filed under: Others — admin @ 5:13 PM

Most of today’s cell phones allow you to shoot pictures and upload them to your computer to share with family and friends over social networks, email and more. Phones support built-in cameras, which are ideal for capturing images on the go. While there are many ways to transfer your pictures from your cell phone to your computer, using a USB data cable is simple and quick. Within minutes, upload your favorite memories using high-speed data transfer rates.

  1. Enable USB connections on your cell phone. This process varies with different cell phones, but with most, you can enable it from the “Connections” options on the “Settings” screen or “Menu ” screen on your phone. Refer to your cell phone’s operating manual if you do not know how to enable USB connections.
  2. Connect your cell phone to the computer using the supplied USB cable. Your computer automatically recognizes the device as a portable hard drive.
  3. Double-click “My Computer” if you are using a Windows operating system. You should see your cell phone listed as a portable hard drive and assigned a letter (for example, D, H, or something else). For Mac users, you should see your phone’s portable hard drive on the desktop.
  4. Double-click your cell phone’s hard drive to launch it. Locate the folder in which your photos are located and double-click it. (The folder name containing the pictures varies with different phone models, but is generally named photos, pictures or images.)
  5. Click the pictures you want and drag them to the location you want to transfer them to on your computer. Alternatively, you can right-click your picture and click “Copy.” Locate the folder you want to transfer the picture to and right-click an empty spot. Click “Paste” to copy the picture to the folder. Repeat this process to transfer additional pictures to your computer.
  6. Close the folder when you are done transferring pictures to your computer. Disconnect the cell phone from your computer.
