Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is need in an HP laptop to log into a network implementing WEP security. You can update the WEP key on an HP laptop using these simple steps.
- Go to Windows Control Panel
- Select the ‘Network and Sharing’ Option.
- Click ‘Manage Wireless Networks’ link which is placed in the Left side Navigation bar of Network & Sharing Center.
- Find out the WEP enabled network for which the Key must be changed on the Laptop.
- ‘Wireless Properties’ Dialogue box will appear. Click security tab.
- There you can see an input box named Network Security Key’ . Enter your Primary WEP key into it.
- Click Ok. The WEP Key has been changed.
- To test the new key entry, Connect to the ‘WEP-enabled network’
